Another election is almost here and its time to decide who to vote for. If we want to use perfect advice, the Bible gives us the principles to go by. Priverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. If we want good government we must elect godly leaders of high moral character. It is absurd to expect good government from ungodly leaders with corrupt hearts.
Our government is a government divided between godly leaders and ungodly leaders. As we move further away from God, the ungodly are prevailing more and more in our government. Laws which would have been unacceptable in the past are now being enacted such as abortion rights, same sex marriage, and hate crime laws.
This Presidential election is very important because who is elected will determine whether we have godly or ungodly judges appointed to the Supreme Court. Many people have voiced concern about the moral decline of our nation. Who we elect as leaders has a tremendous effect on the moral direction our nation takes.
Christians who vote for the ungodly are crossing over into the enemy camp and giving support to the enemies of God. Christians who do not vote are giving victory to the ungodly without a struggle.
The honor and character of our nation depends upon who we elect. We can follow God's advice and rejoice or we can ignore it and pay the consequences. Please pray to God for godly leaders to lead our nation.
